Four turkeys, cranberry jelly, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, salads, pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top. Twenty members prepared most of the food in their kitchens at home, roasted three of the turkeys, and brought the feast to the Senior Center to share with all. About fifty people enjoyed the fine food and good company. Several took home a variety of raffle prizes.
While all have shared in different ways the tragedy of the recent Fires, and remembered those who suffered from them, the gathering was a time for gratitude and good cheer.
Greg finished a full and satisfying plate of turkey with a thankful sigh. Looking around, he said, “I like this place. Always nice to be here.” And it was.
