West County Community Services (WCCS) is a multi-service human services agency serving western Sonoma County. Our service region includes Sebastopol and the small rural communities around the Russian River, from Forestville west to Jenner. We also have counseling services that reach throughout Sonoma County. Our goal is to walk along side those in most need in our community to support their empowerment, one person at a time.

Inclusivity and diversity are central to our mission. We emphasize creating spaces where everyone, regardless of background or life challenges, can feel valued and supported. WCCS serves a wide range of communities, including seniors, homeless individuals, and those facing mental health challenges, offering resources like permanent supportive housing, peer recovery services, and mental health support. Our programs actively foster environments where people from diverse walks of life can connect and grow together, ensuring everyone has access to care and opportunities.

WCCS provides housing solutions that cater to people from all walks of life, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or economic instability. Programs such as rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing are designed to serve a diverse population, ensuring everyone—regardless of background—has access to stable, affordable housing. This inclusive approach extends to specialized services, such as the Service Navigation Centers, where staff offer individualized support to clients from various backgrounds and circumstances. Our housing programs emphasize equitable access and compassionate care.

Through programs such as Senior Peer Counseling, case management, and transportation services, WCCS ensures that older adults from diverse backgrounds receive the support they need to lead fulfilling lives. These services are designed to cater to the unique cultural, social, and personal needs of seniors, making sure everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of their background. The Russian River Senior Center, a key part of our offerings, providing a welcoming space for seniors from all walks of life to engage in social, recreational, and educational activities. The programs emphasize inclusivity by offering services that are adaptable to the diverse needs of West Sonoma County’s aging population, ensuring that everyone, including those from underrepresented or vulnerable groups, can access essential services that enhance their quality of life.

At our four Peer Centers in Petaluma, Santa Rosa (2), and Monte Rio, Peer support is foundational, encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to explore mental health challenges and recovery in a person-centered, community-based setting. We promote mutual growth and recovery through creativity, communication, and shared experiences, ensuring everyone feels empowered and supported.

This commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident across all services, where people are encouraged to embrace their uniqueness and contribute to a community that thrives on respect and mutual understanding. By emphasizing inclusivity, we support building a stronger and more compassionate community that celebrates each individual’s contribution.

At WCCS, our staff are the heart and soul of everything we do. They are instrumental in empowering and transforming the lives of individuals and our community in Sonoma County.
