Our Mission

“To provide a safe place for people chronically challenged by behavioral health issues to work on their mental health recovery.”

Peer Power

The Empowerment Center is a peer-operated, self-help center sponsored by WCCS for people with chronic mental health challenges. Our activities are provided by our members, pee-staff members and volunteers from the community.
We share what we have learned during our own individual journeys to mental health recovery. As peer members, we bring information and experiences to help support one another in addressing our mental health challenges.

We facilitate groups that provide opportunities to learn about and discuss a certain topic and to learn and build skills in a particular area of mental wellness. Activities provide an opportunity for Members to work on a creative project as a part of a group.

Our workshops are offered in a series of specified sessions in which our members have the opportunity to learn in depth about a particular area of mental health and to gain information and resources to utilize for their recovery.
