Last week, the City of Sebatopol and West County Community Services (WCCS) entered into a partnership to provide housing and supportive services to eight currently homeless Sebastopol area families. Through the program, a WCCS case manager will provide case management and supportive services to all interested 65 current residents of the Village Mobile Home Park as well as incoming families. New residents will be housed on currently empty pads, in recreational vehicles connected to city plumbing, water and electricity. This innovative effort will house Sebastopol area homeless at a fraction of the “average” cost of such a program.

The program is the result of a year-long collaboration of the City, The Group of Advocates (a Sebastopol area advocacy group) and WCCS. Providing innovative housing and human service solutions is one of WCCS’s main goals. Successful solutions require partners, effort and vision. We applaud the City for its commitment to its most vulnerable residents and look forward to our work together to make West County an even better, more humane place to live.
