The best partner or provider for a senior is often another senior. The lower Russian River hosts the oldest population in Sonoma County and the Russian River Senior Resource Center is the hub of senior activities and mental health support.

For more than 100 members and many daily drop-in visitors, the Center offers a place to meet, play and work with each other, utilizing the many services that are provided.

A full-time Case Manager connects seniors to the support they require to flourish, and helps many meet their most basic needs.

32 seniors are trained as Senior Peer Counselors and provide emotional support, in one-on-one and group settings, to 120 at-risk seniors across Sonoma County. Meetings can be at the client’s home or a public space. Managed by two Marriage and Family Therapists, this innovative and cost effective program meets seniors where they are, both physically and emotionally.
