Field Trip: Smart Train from Santa Rosa to San Rafael for shopping and lunch

All Aboard!  On Friday, June 14th we’re taking the Smart Train from Santa Rosa to San Rafael for a fun day of visiting while enjoying the pastoral views along the way, lunch at SOL Restaurant and perhaps some thrift store shopping. Right now, seniors ride for free on the train, so your only cost will be for lunch and trip fees. Due to scheduling for the Smart Train, we’ll need to leave the senior center an hour earlier than usual at 9:15 AM. SOL Restaurant is well known as a casual local Puerto Rican eatery with traditional menu items such as Pollo al Horno, Chuletas Fritas, Mofongo Relleno de Camarones, as well as sandwiches and crispy tacos.  Exquisito! Here’s their website: https://www.solfoodrestaurant.com/menu Trip Prices: $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Lunch is self-paid and not included in your trip price. Trip Itinerary: Meeting Time: 9:15 AM at the Senior Center, leave by 9:30 AM Return Time: Approximately 5:00 PM at the Senior Center Registration: Senior Center members have priority registration until May 24th. Please come by the Senior Center Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to sign up. Payment is due when you register. If you have any questions, please call Liz at (707) 921-9700 and leave a message. Trip cancellation policy: If you need to cancel a reservation, we can offer you a refund, minus 20% of the trip fee, up to 48 hours before the trip – If we can fill your spot. After 48 hours, no refunds or credits are available.

Alannah's expert guidance ensures a safe and accessible yoga experience, tailored specifically for seniors. The classes focus on gentle movements, mindful breathing, and relaxation, promoting flexibility, balance, and overall well-being. Participants can expect improved joint health, enhanced flexibility, and reduced stress levels. Alannah's sessions create a supportive community where seniors can connect, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie. $5-10 donation benefits instructor.

Field Trip to Monte Rio Amphitheater for RioFest 2024, Monte Rio

We’re staying local with this next field trip.  On June 15th, join us for a fun filled afternoon at the Monte Rio Amphitheater for RioFest 2024. RioFest began as an event to celebrate the reawakening and re-gathering of our community after the long isolation of the pandemic and continues as a way to welcome summer and new neighbors and visitors each year. All day activities include Live Music with performances by The Bohemian Highway, Spike Sikes & His Awesome Hotcakes and The Tumbling Dice, Papa Dulce & The Combo Bites; local artisans showcasing their talents and crafts; community booths and food trucks; and a raffle and silent auction, with all proceeds and donations directly benefiting our community funds.
