Bohemia Preserve field trip

June 6 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Docent Izetta Feeny will lied a field trip to the Bohemia Ecological Preserve, a 1,000-acre, LandPaths-owned community gem located near Occidental. This remote property offers visitors awe-inspiring views from vast coastal prairie meadows interspersed with stands of old-growth fir, hardwood riparian forest, chaparral and oak woodlands. The waterfall on Duvoul Creek, a beloved local treasure, drains into salmon-bearing Dutch Bill Creek, one of the most valuable streams for coho in the Russian River system.

Let’s have a potluck lunch of easy finger foods and enjoy the peace and beauty of Hut Hill. Bring a sketch book, binoculars, or your wildflower guide. It should be full of flowers now and we need some outdoor time after the long rainy winter. For those who want a bit of a walk we can meander around the Margaret Creek Trail or send the hardy ones on the trail to the Top of The world. Meet at the Senior Center at 9:45 am and we will carpool to the site. We will return to the center by 1:30pm.

Sign up at the Senior Center.
