West Coun­ty Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices (WCCS) is a mul­ti-ser­vice agency for west­ern Sono­ma Coun­ty, includ­ing the small rur­al com­mu­ni­ties around the Russ­ian Riv­er, from Forestville west to Jen­ner. Its 40 expert staff pro­vide a vari­ety of modes of coun­sel­ing and sup­port for seniors, adults, youth and chil­dren in sev­er­al dif­fer­ent venues. Its employ­ment train­ing is ori­ent­ed to those with dis­abil­i­ties and low-income youth and adults. A senior cen­ter is the hub for activ­i­ties and sup­port for the elder­ly. Youth at-risk and first-time offend­ers receive a broad range of assis­tance, and the home­less are offered food, shel­ter and for some, per­ma­nent hous­ing. The agency does this with an annu­al bud­get of $1.6 mil­lion and more than 30 con­tracts. Admin­is­tra­tive offices are locat­ed in Guerneville, Cal­i­for­nia.
