Dawb

For 20 years, Dawn was homeless in Sonoma County. She spent many cold, bitter nights sleeping in alleyways, on riverbanks and along trails. She struggled with drugs and alcohol. Four years ago, having hit bottom on a cold and rainy night, Dawn was ready to try a sober life.

Dawn was already familiar with West County Community Services, having spent nights at the Winter Shelter. After several months at a sober living environment, Dawn applied to the WCCS Mill Street Supportive Housing Project. After stabilizing and working with her Case Manager for several months, Dawn found an apartment of her own.

Dawn has nearly four years in recovery. She is a proud member of the WCCS Board of Directors, a very active community volunteer and is grateful to serve an organization and a community that has given her so much.
